The Evisu Deluxe Spring 2009 collection follows the story of the first voyage of a Japanese sailing ship to America. The ship, Kanrin Maru, was built by the Dutch and sailed from the bay of Yedo (Tokyo) to San Francisco under the instruction of Lieutenant John Mercer Brooke of the United States Navy in the winter of 1860. The Evisu Deluxe collection draws from the historical references of the time and combines the best of Japanese and American tailoring for Spring 2009. One of my favorite Spring 2009 Collections!!!
